Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 30th April 1999.

Section 2 Increase of allowances

(1) Regulation 18 of the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) Regulations 1991 is amended—

(a) in paragraph (1) (attendance allowance), by the substitution of “£29.48” for “£28.62”; and

(b) in paragraph (2) (financial loss allowance) by the substitution—

(i) in sub-paragraph (a), of “£26.24” for “£25.06”; and

(ii) in sub-paragraphs (b) and (c), of “£52.49” for “£50.13”.

(2) The amendments made by paragraph (1) shall have effect in respect of approved duties performed on or after 30th April 1999.

Section 3 Revocation

The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1998 are revoked with effect from 30th April 1999.
