Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Medway National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 22nd January 1999.

Section 2 Amendment of establishment order

For article 3 of the Medway National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 there shall be substituted the following article:—

Nature and functions of the trust

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1)(b) of the Act.

(2) The trust’s functions shall be to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act Medway Hospital, Windmill Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 5NY (including the management of its teaching and research facilities) and its car-park, the Respite Care Unit (Special Needs Services), Preston Skreens, Minster Road, Minster, Sheppey, Kent ME12 3LN, and associated hospitals and premises in the area of Medway Unitary Authority, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services, and there and from there to provide and manage community health services.
