Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the St George’s Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 26th April 1999.

Section 2 Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

For Article 3 of the St George’s Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 , there shall be substituted the following article:–

Nature and functions of the Trust

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.

(2) The trust’s functions shall be–

(a) subject to sub-paragraph (b), to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act St George’s Hospital, London SW17 0QT and associated hospitals and facilities, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services; and

(b) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act the Cardiothoracic and Neurosciences Wing at St George’s Hospital, London SW17 0QT and associated hospitals and facilities in the area of the Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth Health Authority, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services.
