Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Aylesbury Vale District Council and Thanet District Council) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 14th May 1999.

Section 2 Exemption of managing sports and leisure facilities

The management of sports and leisure facilities by Aylesbury Vale District Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out at the Reg Maxwell Pool, Aylesbury, during the period beginning with 14th May 1999 and ending immediately before 1st January 2001.

Section 3 Exemption of other catering

Other catering by Thanet District Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out–

(a) at the Winter Gardens complex, Margate or at Northdown House, Cliftonville; and

(b) during the period beginning with 14th May 1999 and ending immediately before 1st November 1999.
