Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1999.

Section 2

The following provisions of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 shall come into force on 1st June 1999:

(a) section 43 (time limits), to the extent that it is not already in force;

(b) section 44 (additional time limits for persons under 18);

(c) section 45 (re-institution of stayed proceedings);

(d) section 97 (remands and committals of children and young persons), to the extent that it is not already in force;

(e) section 98 (remands and committals: alternative provision for 15 or 16 year old boys);

(f) paragraphs 5(1)(b), 125(b) and 127(b) of Schedule 8; and

(g) in Schedule 10, the entries relating to:

(i) section 62 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 ; and

(ii) section 20 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 .
