Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Amendment (Wales) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 31st July 1999.

(2) In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations ” means the Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 1996 .

Section 2 Amendment of the principal Regulations

(1) The principal Regulations are amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this regulation.

(2) In regulation 1(2), after the definition of “health service body” the following definition is inserted–

“local health group” means a committee appointed under regulation 14(1) of these Regulations in accordance with a circular issued by the Secretary of State for Wales in October 1998 entitled “Establishing Local Health Groups” .

(3) In regulation 14(3) after the words “advise the Authority” insert “, a local health group,”.
