Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Redbridge Health Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 30th July 1999.

Section 2 Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

In the Redbridge Health Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1992 for article 3 (functions of the trust) there shall be substituted the following article:–

Nature and functions of the Trust

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.

(2) The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be–

(a) to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act King George Hospital, Barley Lane, Goodmayes, Essex IG3 8YG and associated hospitals, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services; and

(b) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Goodmayes, Essex IG3 8XJ, and there and from there to provide and manage community health services.
