Section 1
This Order may be cited as the Forgery and Counterfeiting (Protected Coins) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 17th August 1999.

The Forgery and Counterfeiting (Protected Coins) Order 1999
Section 2
(1) Any euro coin produced in accordance with Council Regulation No. 975/98/ EC by or at the instance of a participating member State is hereby specified for the purposes of Part II of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.
(2) In paragraph (1), “participating member State” means a member State which has adopted the single currency in accordance with the treaty establishing the European Community.
