Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Salford Royal Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 9th August 1999.

(2) In this Order, “the Principal Order ” means the Salford Royal Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1994 .

Section 2 Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

(1) For article 3 of the Principal Order there shall be substituted the following article:–

Nature and functions of the Trust

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.

(2) The trust’s functions shall be–

(a) to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act hospital accommodation and services provided at Hope Hospital, Stott Lane, Salford M6 8HD and associated hospitals (including the management of its teaching and research facilities); and

(b) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act a neurological rehabilitation unit in the area of Salford and Trafford Health Authority, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services.
