This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Broxtowe Borough Council, South Somerset District Council and Thurrock Borough Council) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 4th March 1999.

The Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Broxtowe Borough Council, South Somerset District Council and Thurrock Borough Council) Order 1999
(1) The maintenance of ground by Broxtowe Borough Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out during the period beginning with the date on which this Order comes into force and ending immediately before 1st January 2001, in the following parishes of the borough–
Awsworth
Brinsley
Cossall
Eastwood
Greasley
Kimberley
Nuthall
Strelley
Trowell
(2) The maintenance of ground by Thurrock Borough Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out during the period beginning with 1st October 1999 and ending immediately before 1st October 2000.
(1) The collection of refuse and other cleaning by South Somerset District Council shall not be treated as defined activities so long as they are carried out during the period beginning with the date on which this Order comes into force and ending immediately before 1st May 2001.
(2) The collection of refuse and other cleaning by Thurrock Borough Council shall not be treated as defined activities so long as they are carried out during the period beginning with 1st October 1999 and ending immediately before 1st October 2000.
