These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 1st September 1999.

The Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 1999
The Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (England) Regulations 1999 shall be amended as follows.
In the definition of “non-maintained special school” in regulation 2(1) the words “a maintained special school, a grant-maintained special school,” shall be omitted.
(1) For paragraph (a) of regulation 4 there shall be substituted the following paragraph—
(a) the appropriate body in relation to a community, foundation or voluntary school, a community or foundation special school, or a maintained nursery school (in each case within the meaning of the 1998 Act) is the authority maintaining it;
(2) In regulation 4(c)(ii) there shall be inserted before the word “body” wherever it occurs the words “person or”.
In paragraph 7 of Schedule 1 there shall be inserted after the word “has” the words “, or is eligible for,”.
Sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 and the word “and” preceding it shall be omitted.
