Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Housing (Right to Acquire) (Discount) (Amendment) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 2nd December 1999.

Section 2 Amendment

In article 2 of the Housing (Right to Acquire) (Discount) Order 1999 —

(a) at the beginning there shall be inserted “—(1) Subject to paragraph (2)”;

(b) at the end there shall be added—

(2) Where the amount of discount under paragraph (1) is greater than 50% of the value of the dwelling house at the relevant time determined in accordance with section 127 of the Housing Act 1985 , as it applies by virtue of regulation 2(1) of the Housing (Right to Acquire) Regulations 1997 , the amount of discount shall be 50% of the value so determined of the dwelling house.

Section 3 Application

This Order does not apply in a case where a notice has been served claiming to exercise the right to acquire before this Order comes into force.
