Section 1 Title, commencement and extent

These Regulations may be cited as the Contaminants in Food (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 1999, shall come into force on 30th December 1999 and shall apply to England and Wales.

Section 2 Amendment of the Contaminants in Food Regulations 1997

In regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Contaminants in Food Regulations 1997 , for the definition of “the Commission Regulation” there shall be substituted the following definition:

“the Commission Regulation” means Commission Regulation ( EC ) No. 194/97 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs , as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1525/98 , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 864/1999 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1566/1999 ;
