These Regulations may be cited as the Travel Documents (Fees) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 16th December 1999.

The Travel Documents (Fees) Regulations 1999
In these Regulations–
“Convention travel document” means a travel document issued in accordance with Article 28 of the Refugee Convention (travel documents) or Article 28 of the Stateless Persons Convention (travel documents);
“document of identity” means a travel document issued in the United Kingdom to a person who is not a British citizen which enables the holder to make one journey out of the United Kingdom;
“the Refugee Convention” means the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees done at Geneva on 28th July 1951 and the Protocol to the Convention ; and
“the Stateless Persons Convention” means the Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons done at New York on 28th September 1954 .
(1) A fee of £28 is to be paid in connection with an application to the Secretary of State for a Convention travel document or a document of identity.
(2) A fee of £67 is to be paid in connection with an application to the Secretary of State for any other Home Office travel document.
A fee received by the Secretary of State under these Regulations is to be paid into the Consolidated Fund.
The Travel Documents (Refugees and Stateless Persons) (Fees) Regulations 1999 are hereby revoked.
