Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Prescribed Stamp) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 30th March 1999.

Section 2

The Weights and Measures (Prescribed Stamp) Regulations 1968 shall be amended as follows–

(a) in regulation 1–

(i) by substituting “by any person authorised by or under section 11 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985 ” for the word “inspectors”; and

(ii) in paragraph (a), by substituting “,” for “or” in the first place where it occurs and by inserting between “enamelled metal,” and “either” the words “or plastic,”; and

(b) in paragraph (ii) of Schedule 1 and paragraph (iii) of Schedule 2, by substituting “person authorised by or under section 11 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985” for “inspector”.
