Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Burnley Borough Council and Epping Forest District Council) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 5th April 1999.

Section 2 Exemption of managing sports and leisure facilities

The management of sports and leisure facilities shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out–

(a) by Burnley Borough Council during the period beginning with 5th April 1999 and ending immediately before 1st July 1999;

(b) by Epping Forest District Council at Loughton Pool during the period beginning with 5th April 1999 and ending immediately before 1st November 1999.
