Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Benefits Up-rating and Miscellaneous Increases Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 12th April 1999.

Section 2 Amendment of the Social Security (General Benefit) Regulations 1982

In regulation 16 of the Social Security (General Benefit) Regulations 1982 (earnings level for the purpose of unemployability supplement) for the sum of “£2,496” there shall be substituted the sum of “£3,016”.

Section 3 Amendment of the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995

In regulation 17(2)(a) of the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995 (weekly limit in relation to exempt work) for the sum of “£48.00” there shall be substituted the sum of “£58.00”.

Section 4 Revocation

Regulation 4 of the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Regulations 1998 and the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Amendment Regulations 1998 are hereby revoked.
