Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2000.

Section 2 Appointed Day

The following provisions of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 shall come into force on 14th April 2000—

(a) sections 59 and 60;

(b) paragraphs 15, 16, 17 and 22 of Schedule 4, and section 67(1) in so far as it refers to them; and

(c) in Schedule 6 the entries specified in the Schedule to this Order, and section 67(3) in so far as it relates to them.

Section 3 Extent

(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) below, this Order extends to England and Wales only.

(2) Section 59 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 and the amendments made by Schedule 3 to that Act shall not extend to Scotland but otherwise the extent of any amendment made by Schedule 3 shall be the same as that of the enactment amended.
