The Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 5 and Appointment of Reconstitution Day) Order 2000

Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 5 and Appointment of Reconstitution Day) Order 2000.

(2) In this Order, “the 1999 Act ” means the Greater London Authority Act 1999 and “the Fire etc Authority” and “the reconstitution day” have the same meanings as in section 328 of the 1999 Act.

Section 2 Appointment of the reconstitution day

3rd July 2000 is hereby appointed the reconstitution day of the Fire etc Authority.

Section 3 Commencement on 1st May 2000

The following provisions of the 1999 Act shall come into force on 1st May 2000 for the purpose only of nominating or appointing the first members of the Fire etc Authority:

(a) section 328; and

(b) Schedule 28.

Section 4 Commencement on 3rd July 2000

The following provisions of the 1999 Act shall come into force on 3rd July 2000:

(a) section 328, insofar as it is not already in force;

(b) section 329;

(c) section 330;

(d) section 331;

(e) section 332;

(f) section 333;

(g) Schedule 28, insofar as it is not already in force;

(h) Schedule 29; and

(i) Part VIII of Schedule 34.
