Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Transit Visa)(Amendment) Order 2000.

(2) Articles 1, 3 and 4 of this Order shall come into force on 25th May 2000, and article 2 shall come into force on 14th June 2000.

(3) In this Order, “the 1993 Order ” means the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 .

Section 2 Amendment of the 1993 Order

(1) After article 1 of the 1993 Order there shall be inserted—

(1A) In this Order, “ EEA State” means a country which is a Contracting Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area signed at Oporto on 2nd May 1992 as adjusted by the Protocol signed at Brussels on 17th March 1993 .

(2) In article 2(b) of the 1993 Order, for the words “a member State of the European Communities” there shall be substituted “an EEA State”.

Section 3 Amendment of the 1993 Order

For the Schedule to the 1993 Order there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order.

Section 4 Revocation

The Immigration (Transit Visa)(Amendment) Order 1999 is hereby revoked.
