Section 1 Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

(1) These Rules may be cited as the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into force on 16th August 2000.

(2) In these Rules:—

(a) “the 1980 Rules ” means the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) Rules 1980 ; and

(b) a rule referred to by number alone means the rule so numbered in those Rules.

(3) These Rules extend to England, Wales and Northern Ireland only.

Section 2 Amendments to the 1980 Rules

In rule 1(2), in the definition of “the Committee”, after the words “being either” there shall be inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.

Section 3 Amendments to the 1980 Rules

In rule 4, after the words “proceedings before” where they first appear, there shall be inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.

Section 4 Amendments to the 1980 Rules

In rule 5, after the words “on any occasion” there shall be inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.
