Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 18th August 2000.

Section 2Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996
The Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996 are amended as follows.
Section 3Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996
In paragraph (1) of regulation 3, sub-paragraph (b) shall be omitted.
Section 4Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996
In paragraph (1) of regulation 5, the word “and” shall be inserted after sub-paragraph (a) and the words from “and” after sub-paragraph (b) to the end of sub-paragraph (c) shall be omitted.
Section 5Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996
In paragraph (2) of regulation 12, for sub-paragraph (a) shall be substituted—
(a) the letter “R” if the certificate is being issued otherwise than on a basis specified in sub-paragraphs (aa) to (d) below
Section 6Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996
In Schedule 1, paragraph 1 shall be omitted.
