Section 1Citation, commencement, extent and application

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 1st September 2000.

(2) These Regulations shall apply only in relation to England.

(3) These Regulations shall apply in relation to a school year beginning on or after the date that they come into force.

Section 2Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997

(1) The Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997 shall be amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(2) (clothing grant), for “£11,466” there shall be substituted “£11,718”.

(3) In regulation 2(3), for subparagraphs (a) and (b) there shall be substituted—

(a) £71 where the relevant income does not exceed £10,901; and

(b) £37 where that income exceeds £10,901 but does not exceed £11,718.

(4) In regulation 4 (travel grant)—

(a) in paragraph (3), for “£10,683” there shall be substituted “£10,914”; and

(b) in paragraph (4)—

(i) for “£10,683” there shall be substituted “£10,914”; and

(ii) for “£10,504” there shall be substituted “£10,735”.
