Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Time Off for Public Duties (No. 2) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 5th October 2000.

Section 2Time off: the General Teaching Councils

(1) Section 50(9) of the Employment Rights Act 1996 shall be modified as follows.
(2) Omit the word “or” after paragraph (g).
(3) After paragraph (h), insert—
(i) the General Teaching Council for England, or
(j) the General Teaching Council for Wales.
