Section 1Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Children (Protection at Work) (No. 2) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 11th October 2000.
(2) In these Regulations, “ the Act ” means the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 .
(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Section 2Amendments of the Act

(1) In section 18(1) of the Act (restrictions on employment of children), after paragraph (d) the following paragraph is inserted—

(da) for more than twelve hours in any week in which he is required to attend school; or
