Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority (Financial Administration) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 6th November 2000.

(2) In these Regulations, “the Authority” means the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority referred to in section 30A(1) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 .

Section 2 Financial administration

Part VIII (financial administration) of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 shall apply to the Authority as if—

(a) the Authority were a relevant authority for the purposes of that Part;

(b) references to “the commencement day” were references to 1st April 2001;

(c) the Authority were an authority mentioned in section 112(2) ;

(d) in section 112(1), after the words “financial affairs” there were added the words “in accordance with section 59D(3)(b) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 ”;

(e) in section 114(3A) , for paragraphs (a) and (b) there were substituted the words “with the justices' chief executive for the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority”;

(f) in section 115(4), for the words “Section 101 of the 1972 Act” there were substituted the words “Section 30C(1) and (2) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 ”.
