Section 1 Title, extent and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Potatoes Originating in Egypt (Amendment) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2000, shall apply to England and shall come into force on 30th November 2000.

Section 2 Amendment of the Potatoes Originating in Egypt Regulations 1998

(1) The Potatoes Originating in Egypt Regulations 1998 shall be amended in their application to England in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3) below.

(2) In regulation 2 (interpretation) for the definition of “the Decision” there shall be substituted—

“the Decision” means Commission Decision 96/301/ EC authorising member States temporarily to take additional measures against the dissemination of Pseudomonas solanacearum (Smith) Smith as regards Egypt as amended by the instruments listed in the Schedule to these Regulations;

(3) After regulation 6 there shall be inserted the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
