Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2000.

Section 2 Commencement

Subject to the saving in article 3, the following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 shall come into force on 1st January 2001:—

(a) section 82(3), in so far as it is not already in force;

(b) section 423, in so far as it relates to the repeals in Part I of Schedule 34 relating to sections 39(1)(f) and 65(3) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 .

Section 3 Saving

Nothing in article 2 shall affect the status and functions as a major precepting authority of the Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District in respect of any financial year ending on or before 31st March 2001.
