Section 1 Citation, commencement and application

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Water Industry (Charges) (Vulnerable Groups) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 24th March 2000.

(2) These Regulations do not apply to any water or sewerage undertaker whose area is wholly or mainly in Wales.

Section 2 Amendment of the Water Industry (Charges) (Vulnerable Groups) Regulations 1999

(1) The Water Industry (Charges) (Vulnerable Groups) Regulations 1999 is amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2 (special provision to be included in charges schemes), in paragraph (2)–

(a) at the beginning of sub-paragraph (a) insert “the qualifying person ”; and

(b) at the beginning of sub-paragraph (b) insert “the qualifying person, or any dependent child of that person under the age of 16 who resides in the premises,”.

(3) In regulation 3 (assistance to be provided), in paragraph (1)(b) for “ year” substitute “period”.
