The Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2001

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 4th April 2001.

Section 2

(1) “Annibynnol” is hereby prescribed as the form of words in Welsh for the word “Independent” which is specified for use as the description of a candidate in a nomination paper by rule 6(3)(b) of the rules in Schedule 1 to the Representation of the People Act 1983 .

(2) The form of words in Welsh which is prescribed by paragraph (1) may be used as well as or in place of the equivalent word in English at a parliamentary election in Wales.

Section 3

(1) “Annibynnol” is hereby prescribed as the form of words in Welsh for the word “Independent” which is specified for use as the description of a candidate in a nomination paper by rule 4(3)(b) of the rules in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) Rules 1986 .

(2) The form of words in Welsh which are prescribed by paragraph (1) may be used as well as or in place of the equivalent word in English at a county council or county borough council election in Wales.

Section 4

(1) “Y Llefarydd yn ailymgeisio” is hereby prescribed as the form of words in Welsh for the words “The Speaker seeking re-election” which are specified for use as the description of a candidate in a nomination paper by rule 6(3)(b) of the rules in Schedule 1 to the Representation of the People Act 1983.

(2) The form of words in Welsh which is prescribed by paragraph (1) may be used in place of the equivalent words in English at a parliamentary election in Wales.
