Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Armed Forces Act 1996 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2001.

Section 2

(1) Subject to paragraph (2)—

(a) sections 3 and 4 of the Armed Forces Act 1996, and

(b) (so far as not already in force) section 35 of and Schedule 7 to that Act,

shall come into force on 1st May 2001.

(2) Paragraph (1) shall not bring into force the repeal by Schedule 7 to the Armed Forces Act 1996 of section 46 of the Mental Health Act 1983 , section 69 of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984 and Article 52 of the Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 .
