The A6 Trunk Road (South of Kettering to the A45) (Detrunking) Order 2001

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the A6 Trunk Road (South of Kettering to the A45) (Detrunking) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 29th June 2001.

Section 2

In this Order—

“principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and intruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and

“the trunk road” means the A6 Trunk Road.

Section 3

The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Northamptonshire County Council that they will become the highway authority responsible for that length of road within their county boundary.
