Section 1
(1) This Order may be cited as the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001.
(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.

Section 2
Sections 71 and 72 of the Act (codes of practice), to the extent that they relate to Chapter II of Part I of the Act (acquisition and disclosure of communications data), shall come into force on 13th August 2001.
