Section 1 Citation, interpretation and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8) (England) Order 2001.

(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Care Standards Act 2000.

(3) This Order extends to England only.

Section 2 Appointed day

4th October 2001 is the day appointed for the coming into force of—

(a) section 112 of the Act (charges for local authority welfare services);

(b) section 117(2) of, and Schedule 6 to, the Act (transitional provisions, savings and repeals), in so far as they relate to section 18(1) and (3) of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 .
