Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) (Amendment No. 6) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 12th December 2001.

Section 2 Amendment of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 2001

(1) Amend regulation 49 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 2001 as follows.

(2) At the end of paragraph (1) add—

Sub-paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) are subject to the following qualification.

(3) In paragraph (2)—

(a) omit “Notwithstanding paragraph (1)(a), (b) or (c),”;

(b) in sub-paragraph (a) for “or widow’s pension or widowed mother’s allowance” substitute “widowed mother’s allowance, widowed parent’s allowance, bereavement allowance or widow’s pension”; and

(c) in sub-paragraph (b) after “contribution condition for” insert “bereavement payment or”.

(4) In paragraph (3), after “widowed mother’s allowance” insert “, widowed parent’s allowance, bereavement allowance”.
