The Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2001

Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2001.

(2) In this Order, “the 2001 Act ” means the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.

Section 2

The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st December 2001:

(a) sections 17 to 28 (closure of licensed and unlicensed premises);

(b) sections 30 to 32 (sale of alcohol to persons under eighteen and drunkenness or disorder on licensed premises);

(c) section 107(1)(a) and (b), (2) and (3) (payment of allowances to police authority members);

(d) section 133;

(e) section 137 (repeals) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 7 referred to in paragraphs (f) and (g) below;

(f) Part 1 of Schedule 7; and

(g) In Schedule 7, Part 4, the entries relating to Schedule 2 and 2A to the Police Act 1996 in so far as not already in force.

Section 3

The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st January 2002:

(a) sections 122 to 125 (police ranks);

(b) section 137 (repeals) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 7 referred to in paragraph (c) below; and

(c) in Schedule 7, Part 4, the entries relating to sections 12 and 13 of the Police Act 1996.
