Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Drivers' Hours (Goods Vehicles) (Milk Collection) (Temporary Exemption) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 6th March 2001.

Section 2

In relation to the driver of any goods vehicle engaged in the collection and transportation of milk, who spends time driving or on duty during any working day to meet the special needs occasioned by the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Great Britain, or the effects or consequences of such outbreak, the Act shall have effect as if in section 96(3)(a) for the reference to “eleven hours” there were substituted “thirteen hours”.
