Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2002.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002.

Section 2

Section 6 of the Act (regulations as to information about national insurance numbers) shall come into force on 1st July 2002.

Section 3

Sections 1 (registration: provision of signature, date of birth and other information) and 7 (offences) of the Act shall come into force on 1st September 2002.

Section 4

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), sections 2 (dates of birth and ballot papers), 3 (absent votes and declarations of identity) and 4 (electoral identity card) of the Act shall come into force on 1st December 2002.

(2) The coming into force of the amendments made by section 3 of the Act shall not apply in respect of an election where the last day for the publication of the notice of election is before 1st December 2002.
