Section 1 Citation and application

(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2002.

(2) This Order applies in relation to England and to police authorities in Wales .

Section 2 Provisions of the Local Government Act 2000 coming into force on 27th July 2002

The following provisions of the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force on 27th July 2002—

(a) section 90;

(b) in Schedule 6 the repeal of—

(i) in section 80(1)(e) of the Local Government Act 1972 , the words “or under the Audit Commission Act 1998”;

(ii) in section 16(1)(a) of the Audit Commission Act 1998 , the words “or 18”;

(iii) section 17(1)(b) of that Act and “and” preceding it;

(iv) in section 17(2) of that Act, the words “subject to subsection (3)” and paragraphs (a) and (b) and the word “and” following paragraph (b);

(v) section 17(3), (5)(b), (7) and (8) of that Act; and

(vi) section 18 of that Act.
