Section 1 Citation and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Homelessness Act 2002 (Commencement No. 1) (England) Order 2002.

Section 2 Citation and extent

This Order extends to England only.

Section 2 Commencement

The following provisions of the Homelessness Act 2002 shall come into force on 31st July 2002—

sections 1 to 7,

sections 9 and 10,

section 18(1) in so far as it relates to paragraphs 8 to 12, 14(b) to (d), 15, 16, 17(b) and 18 to 21 of Schedule 1,

section 18(2) in so far as it relates to repeals in Schedule 2 in—

the Housing Act 1996 other than the repeals of sections 161 to 165 and in section 174, and

the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 ,

section 19.

Section 3 Commencement

Section 12 of the Homelessness Act 2002 shall come into force on 1st October 2002.
