Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Benefit (General) Amendment Regulations 2002, and shall come into force on 7th October 2002.

Section 2 Amendment of Regulations

In paragraph 11A of Schedule 1A to the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987 (excluded tenancies—property acquired by social landlords) —

(a) in sub-paragraph (1) for “sub-paragraph (2)” there shall be substituted “sub-paragraphs (2) and (3)”; and

(b) after sub-paragraph (2) there shall be added—

(3) Where the disposal or acquisition, as the case may be, took place on or after 7th October 2002, sub-paragraph (2)(b) shall apply to a tenancy to which sub-paragraph (1) refers as if head (i) were omitted.
