Section 1 Citation and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Homelessness Act 2002 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitional Provisions) (England) Order 2002.

(2) This Order extends to England only.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order, references to sections and Schedules are, unless otherwise stated, references to sections of and Schedules to the Homelessness Act 2002.

Section 3 Commencement

Subject to article 4, the following provisions shall come into force on 30th September 2002—

section 11, and

section 18(1) in so far as it relates to paragraph 17(a) of Schedule 1.

Section 4 Transitional Provisions

The amendments made to the Housing Act 1996 by—

section 11, and

section 18(1) in so far as it relates to paragraph 17(a) of Schedule 1

shall not have effect in any case where an appeal is brought under section 204(1) of that Act before 30th September 2002.
