Section 1 Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Authorities (Three-year Strategy Plans) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st November 2002.

(2) In these Regulations “the 1996 Act ” means the Police Act 1996.

(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Section 2 Three-year periods

(1) The first period to be treated as constituting a relevant three-year period for the purposes of section 6A of the 1996 Act is the period of two years ending on 31st March 2005.

(2) Subsequent relevant three-year periods shall be the three-year periods commencing on 1st April 2005, 1st April 2008 and every third year thereafter.
