Section 1Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Short-term Holding Facilities) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 4th November 2002.

Section 2Extension of section 149 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 to short-term holding facilities

Section 149 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (contracting out of certain detention centres) is hereby extended to short-term holding facilities.
