Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Pitcairn (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 20th November 2002.

Section 2Amendment of section 5 of the Pitcairn Order 1970

Section 5 of the Pitcairn Order 1970 is amended by deleting subsection (2A) and replacing it with the following subsection:
(2A) Subject to the provisions of any law for the time being in force in the Islands, a court established under subsection (2) shall sit in such place in the Islands as the Governor, acting in accordance with the advice of the Chief Justice, may appoint:
Provided that it may also sit in the United Kingdom, or in such other place as the Governor, acting in accordance with the advice of the Chief Justice, may appoint.
