Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Terrorism Act 2000 (Proscribed Organisations) (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Section 2 Proscribed organisations

The following organisations are hereby added to Schedule 2 to the Terrorism Act 2000 .

Abu Sayyaf Group

Asbat Al-Ansar

Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan

Jemaah Islamiyah.

Section 3 Proscribed organisations

Schedule 2 to the Terrorism Act 2000 shall be amended by adding at the end of the note to the Schedule the words:

The entry for Jemaah Islamiyah refers to the organisation using that name that is based in south-east Asia, members of which were arrested by the Singapore authorities in December 2001 in connection with a plot to attack US and other Western targets in Singapore.
