Section 1

This Order may be cited as the A420 Trunk Road (Botley Roundabout Oxford to the Oxfordshire County/Swindon Unitary Authority Boundary) (Detrunking) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st June 2003.

Section 2

In this Order—

(i) “principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;

(ii) “the trunk road” means the A420 Trunk Road; and

(iii) “the plan” means the plan folio numbered HA/10/PS/301, consisting of sheet 1 of 1 marked “the A420 Trunk Road (Botley Roundabout Oxford to the Oxfordshire County/Swindon Unitary Authority Boundary) (Detrunking) Order 2003”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at ODPM-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.

Section 3

From the date when this Order comes into force the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road.
