Section 1 Citation, interpretation and application

(1) This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2001 (Commencement No. 13) (England) Order 2003.

(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Health and Social Care Act 2001.

(3) This Order applies to England only.

Section 2 Appointed day in respect of independent advocacy services.

1st September 2003 is the appointed day for the coming into force of—

(a) section 12 of the Act (independent advocacy services); and

(b) paragraph 6 of Schedule 5 to the Act (minor and consequential amendments) and, in so far as it relates to that paragraph, section 67(1) of the Act.
