Section 1Citation, commencement and application
(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Adoption Agencies (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 27th October 2003.
(2) These Regulations apply to England only.

Section 2Amendment of regulation 5A of the Adoption Agencies Regulations 1983
In regulation 5A of the Adoption Agencies Regulations 1983 (tenure of office of members), after paragraph (1), there is inserted —
(1A) Where —
(a) a member of an adoption panel holds office and is in his second consecutive term as a member of that panel; and
(b) his term of office is due to expire on or after 31st October 2003,
the adoption agency may extend the term of office of that member for a further period not exceeding two years.
