These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Teacher Training Bursaries) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st January 2004.

The Education (Teacher Training Bursaries) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003
The Education (Teacher Training Bursaries) (England) Regulations 2002 are amended as follows.
In regulation 2—
(a) substitute the following definition for the definition of “qualified teacher”—
“qualified teacher” means a person who satisfies requirements specified in regulations made under section 132 of the Education Act 2002 ;
(b) omit “and” at the end of the definition of “school centred course” and insert the following definition after that definition—
“subject enhancement course” means a post-graduate course which is designed to equip a person with the subject knowledge he requires to complete a course of initial teacher training; and
In regulation 3(1)—
(a) omit “or” at the end of sub-paragraph (d); and
(b) after “initial teacher training” in sub-paragraph (e) insert “; or” and the following sub-paragraph—
(f) a subject enhancement course
